The scaffolding at the base of the West Tower is now complete. Apologies, the road closures were considerably longer than anticipated.
There will be some further road closures for delivery and collection of materials. These should be no longer than 1 hour and kept between 9.00-17.00.
Now that setup is complete you may see an increase in activity outside of your windows. Please note the contractors are taking photos of each panel to document the process.
There is an independent façade engineering consultant overseeing the project and they will be onsite week commencing 2nd September to witness the process of the installation of the panels and a hose test.
The hose test forms part of the testing of the replacement panels where water is sprayed onto a completed area from a cradle and the building is checked from the inside to ensure there is no break of the weather barrier. It will be necessary to close the road to the right hand side (exiting to March Wall) for the duration of this test.
When some of the cradles were first in use there were some issues with the cabling hitting the windows and causing disruption to residents. These have since been tied back when not in use to prevent this from happening.
